International Blues Challenge

Through a battle of bands and a panel of judges, Scott was chosen to represent the Santa Clarita Valley Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, for the solo catagory. There will be over two hundred bands and solo performers competing for the top prize, through a series of concerts. More details to follw.

Scott Detweiler and Matt Lomeo will be the featured performers at the monthly Santa Clarita Valley Blues Society Pro Jam, open to the public. Scott will open the show, playing from 5:00 pm - 5:30 pm, followed by a pro jam, then Matt Lomeo and his band will take the stage at 8pm to play a full set. This is a fundraising event to support Scott and Matt's trip to the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, January 25-28. So all proceeds from the door will be distributed to Scott and Matt and the members of Matt's band. Additionally, there will be a silent auction, featuring a private guitar lesson with Scott, a solo house concert with Scott, a solo house concert with Scott and his homemade gumbo for 10 people, and complete handwritten lyrics and stories behind the music for both of Scott's new releases, "Memphis Bound" and "Seven Solo Songs".

John Angotti Concert

Our Lady of Grace Church, 5011 White Oak Avenue, Encino, CA

Acclaimed Christian music writer, singer, pianist and recording artist, John Angotti, will perform one show only at Our Lady of Grace Church. Scott will be guest soloist, singing "Hail Mary", from his sacred blues oratorio, "Magnificat In Blue". Angotti is one of the most important figures in sacred music today. This is not to be missed. The concert is free and open to the public. More details to follow.

Winter House Concert Series/CD Release Celebration (solo show 2 of 2)

West San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles

Scott will perform solo at this first of two, intimate indoor Winter House Concert events. His sets will include standard and original Christmas songs as well as material from his latest albums, "Memphis Bound" and "Seven Solo Songs", and works from his vast catalog of original songs. Set list will be different from selections that he will play on Saturday, December 3. If you have never experienced Scott's mastery of the acoustic guitar, accompanying his singing, you should get tickets to this. Only a limited number of tickets will be available and can be purchased on this website. Price of admission includes holiday cookies and Peruvian hot cocoa. Adult beverages, non-adult beverages and strong finger foods will be available for suggested donation amount. All ages. (Los Angeles West San Fernando Valley location will be provided on purchased tickets).

In celebration of the release of Scott's two new albums, "Memphis Bound" and "Seven Solo Songs", Scott was originally going to open for Marguaret Love and The Lovettes with a rare, intimate, acoustic solo set. However, due to circumstances beyond control, the performance of Marguaret Love and The Lovettes has been postponed until further notice. So, Scott Detweiler Band will perform in their place, and, Scott will still open the show solo. All ages. $10.00 admission tickets at the door.

Scott will be the featured guest on the Catbluz Radio Hour and in an in-depth interview by host, Catfish, he will discuss his musical influences, his New Orleans musical heritage and his upcoming participation in the annual Blues Foundation International Blues Challenge in Memphis. (the show will stream after the original broadcast...details to follow).

SD, his wife, Elsa and her mother, Maria, appear in "It's Not A Burden", the latest documentary by Emmy nominated cinematographers, Michelle Boyaner and Barbara Green. "It's Not A Burden" is a feature length documentary that provides an intimate, humorous and heart-felt journey into the challenges and joys of adult children caring for their aging parents. (They will attend this West Coast Premiere event).

Private Los Angeles Event (band)

Scott will be joined by Albert Trepagnier, Jr on drums, Bill Johnston on saxes/clarinet, and Matt Bragg on bass for this private Los Angeles event.
